Mapping Catch-up, Mt. Popa, Another Road Trip, and Burmese Script

We've picked up the pace a bit, which has left me behind a day and forgetting about giving locations. Also, we are headed for Mindat in the Chin state in the northeast for 4 days where we may not have wifi.

So.....

To Bagan from Yangon. Bagan is at the blue dot NNE of Yangon.

Mt. Popa...

is a National Park, and center for "nat" (Google it) worship, southeast of Bagan, at the top of which we found this sign.

I asked Le Montage if they know anything about it, and their manager, Peter deRosa, said it's part of their global media blitz.

Today we are traveling by car to the Chin state to visit Mindat and Mt. Victoria (tattooed ladies!), returning to Bagan on the 18th.

The Burmese script, which you may have noticed in some of the pics, seems to consist of a lot of variations on the circle, with very few straight lines. That is said to be because it was originally written on palm leaves with a stylus, and straight lines would tear the leaves. It occurs to me that "Google", but for the "l", could have been written in Burmese.
