there is Junction Center, a multi-story shopping mall, where the prices, according to a Japanese guy at our hotel, are comparable to those in Japan.

Interestingly, the malls in Turkey were the ritziest I'd seen in any country bar perhaps Dubai, but the prices were quite reasonable! Wonder how much exchange rate has to do with it. Or maybe the nouveau riche class in Burma just isn't big enough yet . . .
